Unicode and You

There have been some discussions in the office lately about UTF-8 (unicode) characters and URLs. Before we post what we think of them (and their future to SEO), we wanted to know what your experience has been with foreign character sets in general? Is your operating system set up to handle them? Do websites you visit display ???? or boxes where there should be Chinese or Russian or some other language’s characters? Is this something that you have to deal with on a daily basis, or only when you’re venturing into a non-ASCII world?
